"Lime Kiln Lighthouse"

The island’s famous lighthouse is beautifully captured on film by a local photographer and was framed by Friday Harbor Art Studio and Custom Framing.

About the artist: Bob resides on San Juan Island with his wife Judy Chovan and golden retrievers Tosca and Sam. Since retiring from a career as a Partner with Price Waterhouse Coopers in 2001, he has devoted his time to making images that bring out the extraordinary qualities of light and texture of the world around him.

Bob uses scanned 35mm transparencies or a digital camera to capture the original images. Using Photoshop as a "digital darkroom," he then makes color balance and contrast adjustments. The prints are made on an HI 130 large-format printer using dye-based inks and specially coated paper for an archival quality Giclee print.

Donated by Robert Stavers and Howie Rosenfeld. Value $650.

"Cape Buffalo"

A signature piece by a renowned wildlife artist, this bronze sculpture is a bust of an African Cape Buffalo. This piece is entitled "Bad to the Bone."

About the artist: Wildlife artist Jocelyn Lillpop Russell has continued to gain recognition for both paintings and sculptures. Born and raised in the beautiful San Juan Mountains in southern Colorado, she now lives in the incredible San Juan Islands in Washington state.

She returned to Tanzania in June/July of 2005. Watch for her upcoming works of African Big Game, as well as her new line of limited edition sterling silver jewelry. (pendants and bracelets)

Jocelyn was featured in the 'Artists of the Millennium' section of the Jan/Feb 2000 and the June/July 2001 issue of Wildlife Art Magazine. She was the Featured Artist (sculpture and paintings both) for the NatureWorks Wildlife Art Show 2002, and returned as their Encore Artist for 2003.

Her most recent honor was receiving a commission by the Officers and men and women of the Kenya Navy in completing a portrait plaque to be presented to President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi as he stepped down from office. The plaque measured approximately 30" wide by 36" tall and was cast in bronze.
